Bauer

Before 2019, Bauer skates used a traditional D/EE width system, where D represented a standard width and EE was a wider option, with each skate line (Vapor, Supreme, Nexus) designed for specific foot shapes. In 2019, Bauer introduced the Fit 1 / Fit 2 / Fit 3 system, offering multiple fits within each skate line to better match individual foot profiles — narrow (Fit 1), regular (Fit 2), and wide (Fit 3).

CCM

Before 2021, CCM skates followed the traditional D/EE width system, with each line (Jetspeed, Tacks, Ribcor) tailored to different foot shapes. In 2021, CCM introduced their Fit System — Tapered, Regular, and Wide — allowing each skate line to accommodate all foot types by offering multiple fit profiles across models.
